This week we kick off our SUMMER SESSION and 8 WEEKS OF SUMMER FUN! Our summer fun theme weeks happen during our normal class times and they are a way to add an extra dose of fun to help keep our kids active, learning and engaged in the summer months. Here is an outline of all eight weeks so our students and prospective students can plan accordingly:
WEEK 1 – DYNAMIC DUO WEEK & FACEBOOK/INSTAGRAM CONTEST
MAY 29th – June 2nd
For this week students can bring a buddy with them to class and plan to wear a unique matching outfit. Whether they come as Sonny and Cher, Batman and Robin, Salt and Pepper, or some other Dynamic Duo, they will still need to be able to do Karate- so make sure they can move around in costume. Buddies will have to have a parent sign a waiver to be on the floor. Also, if your child has a friend who already attends the same class, that is totally cool for them to participate together and dress as a Dynamic Duo.
Facebook/Instagram Contest: Take a picture of the dynamic duo. Then, check in at HMA on Facebook/Instagram and post the picture with #dynamic duo. The team whose post garners the most likes will receive a prize.
WEEK 2 – HEROES AND VILLIANS WEEK
June 4th – 9th
Students can come to class dressed as their favorite superhero or super villian. We will have games and activities designed to test their super powers!
WEEK 3 – NINJA WEEK
June 11th – 16th
Students can come to class dressed as ninjas! We will have games and activities designed to tap into our inner ninja.

WEEK 4 – DUCK & DODGE WEEK
June 18th – 23rd
Our students will work their blocking and dodging skills with lessons and games that involve dodging foam darts and balls.
WEEK 5 – BEACH WEEK
June 25th – 30th
It will be a week long beach party and luau at Hendersonville Martial Arts! Have your kids come dressed for the beach with bathing suits, tank tops, and sunglasses. We will have beach themed games and activities.
NOTE: The DOJO will be closed Monday July 2nd through the following Saturday (June 7th) and will reopen on July 9th.
WEEK 6 – MAD STACHE AND CRAZY HAIR WEEK AND FACEBOOK/ INSTAGRAM COMPETITION
July 9th– 14th
Break out the HANDLEBARS and GEL because one of our favorite competitions is back! For Monday and Tuesday, students should arrive in the craziest fake or drawn on mustaches, beards, or goatees! For Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, students should come with the craziest new hairstyle they can come up with- wigs, hats, hair color, and other items are all fair game! Be creative!
Facebook/Instagram Contest: Take a picture of your child with their “mad stache” or “crazy hair” in their karate uniform. Then, check in at HMA on Facebook/Instagram and post the picture. The student whose post garners the most likes will receive a prize. We will have one prize for the Mad Stache days and one prize for the Crazy Hair days.
WEEK 7 – Games Tournament WEEK (medals for winners in each category)
July 16th – 21st
Students will compete in games like Poison Cookie, Karate Dodge Ball or other dojo favorites and earn medals (aka candy on ribbons) in different categories.

This week will be all about training powerful strikes learning how to break through things.
