I shared a quote in our Krav Maga class last week from Ralph Waldo Emerson; “sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and reap a destiny.”
How we think about things will determine how we feel about them, and how we feel about them will ultimately impact whether we act on them. Self Defense training is hard work. It is impossible to make progress without being pushed out of your comfort zone.
So the battle really begins with our attitude in that it determines whether or not we will take action. If we truly want to develop more discipline, it is essential that we control our attitude.
Lou Holtz says; “Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade–off they’re making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that is the difference.”
How you view self defense training, exercise, nutrition or anything else will ultimately determine if you follow through to achieve your goals. So let’s challenge eachother to have a winning attitude and embrace hard work so that we can reach our potential.
