As a home school mom, from the moment we walked in, HMA has been exactly what we were searching for our daughter to be a part of- Interaction with other children, something to be intentional and passionate about and a tribe of people to help speak into her life. The staff is friendly and excellent at not only Martial Arts but life lessons in promoting self discipline, courage and making good choices. My family loves HMA. The kids program is great and the adult Krav Maga class has challenged me both physically and mentally. This program is great for anyone who wants to get into better shape and learn some great self defense techniques in the process. I can't say enough good things about HMA.

We've been so happy with HMA! They are so great and engaging with the kids. Our six year old daughter loves it and has done so well!

Our family has been part of HMA for close to 3 years. Through the kids karate program my son and daughter have gained an appreciation for practice and discipline, and increased confidence in their strength and ability. I have personally experienced an increase in athleticism beyond what I imagined possible through Krav Maga self defense training. Sensei Swanson and Mr. Tutt are not only experienced, decorated and talented instructors, but perhaps most importantly they obviously love what they do. They are encouraging, personable, caring and dedicated to their students. I love that the focus of our training goes beyond the physical, and that both kids and adults are encouraged and expected to exhibit all character traits of a true "black belt" both inside and outside of the dojo: modesty, courtesy, self control, perseverance, respect, integrity, and an indomitable spirit. I highly recommend HMA as an effective and safe training environment for people of all ages, at all skill levels.

My son started there 3 weeks ago and it has been an amazing experience already!!! He's became a first time listener and so dedicated to go above and beyond his goals.

Our son began with HMA in April of 2016 and we have seen nothing but improvement in all aspects that the classes touch on. We are even seeing improvements at home at at school. Our son loves class and is engaged and ready to learn the second he hits the mat. Great instructors and staff.

My wife and I have been taking Krav Maga since late October of 2014. We chose HMA because I was looking for a Martial Arts program that was led by a family with a Christian background. I was immediately impressed because Justin Swanson, the owner, answered my email immediately. The group in our Krav class has become family. Their is a genuine feeling of belonging on your first visit. If you are looking for a quality program, led by quality people, with a core group of fellow students who want to see you succeed, then HMA is the place to attend. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Justin is an awesome instructor. He teaches my daughters little dragons and my Krav Maga class. The guy is a one man show right now and you'd never know it by the energy he brings each class. We are both loving our classes and are dedicated to staying with it long term. If you have every wanted to try Martial Arts this is the best place! Every single member wants you to succeed and have a blast at the same time.

I cannot recommend Hendersonville Martial Arts enough! I drove over an hour twice a week for six months because I liked this dojo so much. Justin & Janelle are wonderful and so welcoming. If I hadn't gone back to work and didn't live so far away, I would still be taking krav classes here. Check them out, you won't be sorry!

Our son has been with HMA from day one! The changes we have seen in the growth and development of the program and in our son are too great for words! I have recently started in the Krav Maga adult classes. The class environment is so accepting and encouraging. I've learned so much in one month!!

Hendersonville Martial Arts is a great place for my kids to train. We love the instructors and fun environment. We also joined the adult Krav Maga program. My wife and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to be in shape and learn self defense. These days you must be prepared to NOT be a victim.

Mr Swanson is a phenomenal teacher. I took martial arts for years and I have the deepest respect for this school. There is no other place I would send my kids too. I can not say enough good things about it.

Justin doesn't just teach karate, he also instills life lessons into these kids. He is an AMAZING instructor/teacher whose heart is into helping each induvidual achieve their best. I love what the kids walk away with after each session.

Henderson martial arts are phenomenal they work well with kids and adults with high quality training!

Amazing! I am 28 and have never taken any type of karate or self defense class (unless you count a kick boxing workout video in my living room) and I LOVE Krav Maga. I feel stronger, healthier and more self confident. 

I wear my heart rate monitor to class every now and then and typically burn between 900 - 1100 calories in a single hour class. But it's fun. There are moments that I want to yell b/c Master Swanson pushes me to the limit but that's one of the best parts! I know that I am better today then I was yesterday. And tomorrow I will be better than I am today! 

I recommend Hendersonville Martial Arts and the adult Krav Maga class to everyone. Weather you are looking for self defense, fitness & weight loss or just a great time with some awesome people, HMA is the place for you! 

My son had a not so stellar experience at another martial arts school and while looking for somewhere else I came across Hendersonville Martial Arts. Justin was great from the first phone call in answering all my questions and patient while we decided if we were ready to make a change. From the first week of classes, we noticed a positive change in my son. He was excited about martial arts again and excited to learn. Since we have been there a little over a month now, he is still excited and now my husband has joined the adult class. It has been a great place and we look forward to watching Jonathan earn his black belt someday!
